Today, we’re diving into the world of sales funnels and exploring a critical question for coaches and trainers: What’s the best Sales Funnel for Coaches and Trainers?

With numerous options like webinars, workshops, challenges, and more, it’s essential to find the right fit for your business. Let’s unravel this topic and discover the best strategies to optimize your sales process.

Understanding the Sales Funnel Landscape

First off, it’s important to note that all types of sales funnels can work. The key is to find the one that aligns best with your audience and your unique offering. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution in the world of sales funnels.

Here are three primary types of sales funnels:

Virtual Event Funnel

This includes conducting Webinars and Workshops/Challenges, adding value, and later selling your program in the one-many format.

  • Webinars: They are most Effective for low to moderate ticket offerings (typically ranging from 10k to 30k) since this requires a moderate amount of time to convert prospects into customers.
  • Workshops/Challenges: If you need more time to convert, you do a workshop/challenge. You focus on sharing knowledge, showcasing your expertise, and then persuading attendees for sales. They are typically associated with higher ticket offerings as people have more doubts that need clarity, hence you need to spend more time.

Direct Selling Funnel

Here rather than inviting people to an event, you are directly selling your program.

  • Video Sales Letter (VSL): This is a persuasive video along with a landing page that aims to directly convert prospects into customers.
  • Bootcamp/Initial Course Funnel: Here you create a mini-course and first sell that using VSL and later through this, you sell your main program.

Both require you to have automated nurturing and conversion strategies. They are mainly effective and profitable for offerings up to 3000 rupees and not more.

Appointment Booking Funnel

This is Ideal for very high-ticket offerings (around 1 Lakh). You are typically running ads to book appointments and trying to convert prospects during calls, and with the help of following up through calls and SMS. The time involved in converting one customer is high, hence the high ticket.

Apart from which sales funnel to choose, you also might face difficulty in deciding, whether should you do it for Free or charge money (especially the virtual event). That’s what we are going to answer next.

Free vs. Paid Funnel

For virtual events, Free funnels can generate more leads with lower ad spend per person.

But they tend to have lower show-up rates (about 30%-40%). Since people have not paid for it, they don’t value it (resulting in a low show-up rate). Free is preferred for low-ticket offerings.

Paid funnels produce fewer leads but offer higher-quality prospects with better show-up rates (70%-80%).

Because of this show-up factor and getting better attention from prospects, many prefer to have a paid funnel for higher ticket offerings.

The Ultimate Funnel

Whatever the strategy people are following, the ultimate goal for every coach is to have an Automated Profitable Webinar Funnel to do the selling.
This allows for one-to-many selling options, requires less time involvement, and proves profitable. When set right with email marketing, It offers automated nurturing to conversion system, making it a powerful choice.

Invisible Forces at Play

Apart from the obvious marketing and sales metrics and analytics, there are a few more additional reasons that decide which sales funnel one should choose and what results one will get.

They are:

  • Quality of your audience: People who signed up, are they a perfect fit for your product or service? When running ads you can manage this. But while doing organic promotions, you will find many who are not fit for your product and have just signed up for exploring.
  • Trust: The second factor is Trust. Does the audience trust you? Is your audience cold (no idea about you), warm (knows about you and watches your free stuff), or hot (is a lead and some may have even bought some of your other products)? Basically how much do they trust you and your expertise?
  • Confidence: How Confident are you in your offering and yourself?

The higher the quality, trust, and confidence, the less time you require to convert hence the sales funnel varies.

Hybrid Model

At the start of your journey, you will choose one of the strategies and try and make it work for you. You might even do one-one conversion calls, for converting just 1 5000 rupees client.

But as time progresses, you will get better and introduce other funnels as well. To get better leads at a better cost with less time involvement. Hence this Hybrid Model.

Consider combining elements of different funnels to create a hybrid model.

This involves one-to-many selling strategies (for your main products) along with automated nurturing and conversion.
VSLs for directly selling (low ticket products), and appointment booking for your high-ticket offerings. Helping you make loads of money.

You are basically creating a Funnel Hub, which is multiple funnels bringing you leads and sales consistently.

Conclusion:

In the world of coaching and training, the sales funnel you choose should align with your audience, offering, and objectives. There’s no one “best” funnel, but by understanding your audience and leveraging the right strategies, you can optimize your sales process for success.
